Marshall Eugene White, 75, of Athensville, died Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born July 12, 1948, in Scottville to Joseph and Opal (McCann) White. He married Linda Sue Probst, July 21, 1984, in Athensville, and she preceded him in death April 24, 2001.
Surviving are his daughters, Lisa Decker of Greenfield, Teresa (Kevin) Beddingfield and Robin Decker, and his son, Wayne (Amanda) Decker all of Athensville, his grandchildren, Justin (Randi) Decker, Jenna Brogdon, Thomas (Hannah) Brogdon III, Megan (Shawn) Lemons, Lauren Decker, Dustin (Tabitha) Ledger, Larissa Gound, Matt Smith, Dylan (Reagan) Decker, Bobbi (Nate) Decker, Amanda Thomas, Logan (Kaila) Thomas, Daniel (Katie) Probst, Adam Probst, David (Kelsie) Probst, Cassie (Ken) Martin, and Brandon (Becca) Jones, 41 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Donna Mitchell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son, Steven Probst, a great-granddaughter, Katie Ledger, and fourteen siblings, Kate, Rose, Josephine, Carol, Irene, Elizabeth, Larry, Allen, Joe, Hal, Leonard, Jim, Albert, and Vernon.
Marshall was involved in farming and retired from Lundia after 45 years of service as a carpenter. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying coyote, deer and mushroom hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed gardening and horses. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held Monday, February 12, from 1 until 2:30 pm at the Shields-Bishop funeral home in Greenfield.
